Pitch Perfect pitch Harmon Style (removed inner head)
You had to pull main tuning slide out about 15mm to 25mm when you used Harmon mute (removed inner head) in play due to pitch rise remarkable in Bb trumpet. It is un-necessary action to adjust the pitch when you are playing.
When you use BEST BRASS Sound Transformer, it is designed same pitch as same pitch as you play open horn.

In general, playing with mute has an unevenness in key in low register and high register even you had best tuning in correct key. Wah Wah & Cool Jazz for Trombone
Wah-Wah mutes for trumpets are usually used without a stem, which is called "Harmon style" as we know, and Miles Davis made this style famous. The music is called "Cool Jazz".
On the other hand, Wah-Wah mutes for trombone are hardly used without a stem. How come? In fact, it has no meaning to play trombones with Wah-Wah removed a stem. I mean we can't get the attractive tone for "Cool Jazz" with a traditional Wah-Wah.

I was waiting for this STF (sound transformer) mute with stable pitch and stable blow feelings for a person who plays many modern art like me. For instance, in tune of "Michi" of Mr. Tohru Takemitsu plays which requires taking mute in and out so often was difficult to play in precisely to adjust the key and pitch. There were so many places needs to change substituting fingering and embouchure in the tune. And also the player was worried about the Harmon mute falling down during his play and I always held the mute to avoid this. My scrupulous as musician and scrupulous of designer's mind of Mr. Hamanaga combined together and completed as a "product". You should play with this fantastic mute so that you will find how excellence of STF mute soon.

I play a lot of Broadway type shows and studio work that involves quick mute changes, and every other harmon mute I've owned or tried requires moving the tuning slide. Not so with the BEST BRASS mute. It's wonderfully in tune and has a great sound from low F# right up to double C. I'm so pleased to have found this mute and want to spread the world.
