Do you have e-Sax for baritone or soprano saxophone ?

Currently BEST BRASS is selling e-Sax for only alto saxophone and tenor saxophone. We would like to develop those but expecting your assist and support.

How does the method of fixing my saxophone to e-Sax ?
Is it easy and simple ? Does my saxophone wobble inside e-Sax ?

The fixation of saxophone inside e-Sax is neck part, U shape bore part, Low C key guard part and bell part.
Also we paid attention to all parts of e-Sax not to scratch or damage to the music instrument. The neck part at mouthpiece side can be seen from out site is also protected by soft sponge material. At beginning, you might need a time for setting but if you used to do it, only few second will be need for setting your saxophone to e-Sax so that it is not hard to blow saxophone with wobble.

I'm just worry about the load to my saxophone when the case closed even the rubber sponge is used for e-Sax.

Only part to stop the instrument is Low C key guard part.
This part is protected by specially soft material so there will be no any load to your saxophone. Just like softly and gently wrapped. The material of rubber part is called elastomer which has a pliability so much and a sulfur ingredient does not included like natural rubber so it is very gentle to the saxophone.

How about the sound leaking from the part both hand put in ?

For users like children and ladies with thin wrist, the crevice of opening might be larger than adult. In this case, we recommend them to use the wristband for tennis. You might not feel the difference of muffling the sound even the crevice of opening is large but this crevice sometimes makes the pronunciation in low register worser. Also rendition and poor maintenance of saxophone influences the bad pronunciation too.

Can I change the headphone selling at the stores ?

You can ... but we adopt the high quality headphone and best match for e-Sax so we recommend you to use our accessories.

Do you have a guarantee for repair when the electrical part breakdown ?

Of course we have one year warranty after your purchase but the grantee effects only in Japan.

Is the material of e-Sax case FRP or plastic ?

The material of e-Sax is high grade plastic called ABS. The feature of this ABS is beautiful appearance and intensity.

When I play saxophone using e-Sax, I guess heat and moisture stuff inside itself. Do yo take any measure or prevention for it ?

Of course we consider for them.

First of all, a felt using inside e-Sax is the best fiber at present which has high performance for adsorption/desorption and also high efficiency composite fiber with deodorization and antibacterial for mold. This special felt absorbs the moisture inside e-Sax rapidly. When you open e-Sax case, the moisture inside e-Sax desorbs rapidly too. So this fiber is ideal and perfect fiber for e-Sax. Also this fiber effects to sound absorbing and natural feeling to blow so please use e-Sax not to remove this fiber.

As for the heat inside e-Sax, there might be a personal differences to feel the heat inside e-Sax like sticky on fingers or palm. This phenomenon is caused by mainly metabolism (perspiration) act not from your expiration. If you sweat a lot on your hand, you might feel sticky on your fingers inside e-Sax too. To avoid this, we recommend you to use thin glove made by cotton. Please devise by yourself.

There will not dew condensation on the surface of saxophone by the moisture goes waterdrops inside e-Sax. The place if the moisture dew condensation with long playing practice will be between felt and shell (ABS) part. So when you played long time using e-Sax, please dry the felt taking out from the shell. You can remove the felt easily. Please stay away from the direct rays of sum due to deterioration at the black sponge part you hand in by ultra violet ray. Please put felt or e-Sax at well ventilated place inside a room to dry them.

Is it possible for me to play in all range of register ?

Of course you can ......
This was most important for us when developing and also our adviser regarded this matter as most importance for designing the sound. If your saxophone itself adjusted well, you can play from bottom register to highest register (flagioletto). But if the adjustment of your saxophone is out of tune even little, it would be difficult for you to play in lowest register in e-Sax. This is the reason why the sound come from your saxophone became severe and sensitive inside the sound space of e-Sax even you can perform the lowest register when opened. Also depending the position of your saxophone inside e-Sax makes the effect for lowest register too. (so we do not guarantee for all range of register in all cases)

Can I choose the color ? or do you have transparent version ?

The color of e-Sax is white only. We used to consider a transparent version when developing steps but you can not see e-Sax inside because the absorb felt is needed inside so you can not see e-Sax inside even transparent version. And also the reason of moisture of expiration too. The sound absorbing felt is special fiber to absorb and desorbs the moisture inside e-Sax and also have the effect of natural feeling when playing and function for silence effect too.

I am a beginner for saxophone play and a loud sound leaks. And with changing ON/OFF switch of electric module, does the performance change ?

e-Sax is muffling the sound packing saxophone with ABS shell. Inner felt works for absorbing the sound and shell works for cutting the sound going out. The tone still remains very natural acoustic sound and there's no electrical silence method in e-Sax. Therefore, there's no change and difference for leaking the sound from e-Sax between switch on and switch off of electrical module.

In general (specially for beginners), they have a tendency to blow in loud when they use a silencer. This is identified that they would like to blow louder than normal playing because a silencer muffled the sound smaller then the sound leaking from silence will be louder and a play feels heavy too. In this case, we recommend to use the attached headphone to listen the sound by yourself and adjust the volume of sound. The volume of sound comes from e-Sax should be like as same as a whisper in talk and this is the best volume to play saxophone using our e-Sax.

For advanced player, they know how to control the volume of sound even the sound is muffled by e-Sax. In fact, they are very satisfied with the performance of e-Sax. Also they enjoy the silent play without using electric module because the tone is natural sound of saxophone and very small. For example, they can play with guitar and recorder together.

The silence rate of e-Sax is approx -25dB just like you can hear the conversation from the phone in same room. In quiet residence area, a voice of conversation leaks outside. The sound of e-Sax is also same level of leaking the sound outside too. Please pay attention for leaking your sound comes out for neighbors.

Tell me how to easily distingish between Type I and Type II.

You can easily distinguish typeI and TypeII by looking at the metronome function. The module of type I does not have the metronome function. If there is the metronome, it must be the type II. Please look at the module so that you can distinguish the difference.

I have no idea about the placement of the battery. Which end should be inserted first. Where can I find this information in the owner's manual?

Please open the cover and look at inside. You will see the picture of the battery on the circuit board. Please put the battery into the module in the correct direction like the picture.

　　　　　　　　　　

The tip of using e-Sax

Countermeasure for unstable neck part from support stand

Please tighten the screw in last to tie the neck part of saxophone. U letter part of saxophone should be settled to bottom packing part of e-Sax and then please confirm the neck part of saxophone not to be separated from the neck support stand and then fasten the screw finally. As the result, the angle of your saxophone and neck part (revolving direction) will be changed little bit than normal position but you can play saxophone as usual in this situation.

Countermeasure for hard to move the right operation like high E key.

It will be improved if you can fix saxophone turn little bit left inside e-Sax and find the position you can move your right hand freely in e-Sax.

In case using crampon alto saxophone

Crampon alto saxophone is special saxophone like angle of neck part, length, bell direction and bell position compared with normal saxophone. In case using crampon alto saxophone, if you use e-Sax in normal position, the neck support stand will hit key pad. To solve this problem, the neck support stand should be turn 180 degree and fix to saxophone. Also the bell will be touched to the e-Sax wall (felt part) by coming out and looks left so in our experiment, it was difficult to pronounce the lowest tone and half sharp tone from lowest tone but other tone in all register was fine even hand position.
